Edibles As the Ornamentals

It seems more and more gardeners are incorporating edible plants within the borders of the typical flower bed. How about a flower pot full of colorful edible greens?

  4. Lettuce really is a gorgeous plant - more attractive than tasty, in some ways. :) I love the hot weather "greens" for their looks, too - amaranth, Malabar spinach, orach, etc. Lovely photo!

  7. yah it looks aesthetic and of course conventionally edible. What about eating the unconventional? I just injected that idea in my draft for tomorrow, haha! By the way, i also tried planting lettuce near my only window in the condo unit, however it faces only the west side, so i am sure it will not be as good as plants with full sun. I probably be getting etiolated plants, lanky and whitish.

  9. Quite pretty, apparently I need to learn a lot more about lettuces. I am sure my neighborhood deer would really appreciate the variety in their diet.
